Corby Pegasus Reserves 3 Harpole Reserves 2 ( Sincy 2, Rob) – 24/03/12

After lasts weeks excellent 2nd half performance we were looking to carry on from where we left off. 3 points were essential again to keep the pressure on Weldon in the hope that they would not get the win they needed to seal the title.

With Chris Hurling getting a well deserved call up to the 1st team, Jamie Burns came into the starting 11 with the same formation as last week.

Pegasus started well and for first twenty minutes we were on top with Sincy getting an early goal to put us one up. We then lost our way a little, with Harpole getting the upper hand and scoring a deserved equaliser. Last ten minutes of the half we upped it again and a minute before the break Rob put us ahead with a goal direct from a corner.

The second half stated equally well and following a long kick from Hugo in goal, Jamie took the ball under control brilliantly and supplied a perfect cross into the middle for Sincy to tap in for his second goal of the game.

Pegasus then looked steady and although Harpole held their own we looked very comfortable as the half progressed. However after conceding a sloppy corner Harpole scored again with a speculative header to put us under pressure again.

Harpole seemed to be the stronger side as the heat and conditions started to take its toll but we showed our usual grit and determination to hang on for another great win.

Next game is in 2 weeks against Weldon by which time they could be champions but 2nd spot is now looking very promising.
