Kettering Nomads Reserves 0 Pegasus Reserves 1 (Jack) – 21/01/12

Pegasus made the trip to a windy and cold (as usual) Isham expecting a tough fixture against a Nomads team sitting in 2nd position in the league after a long winning streak.

Peg started the first half very strongly and played some very good football in difficult conditions. Unfortunately we couldn’t quite get the final pass right and the half ended all square.

The second period was much more even with Nomads upping their game but not really threatening the Peg goal.

As the game looked like petering out to a scoreless draw, an inspired managerial change saw Jack come off the bench for his first run out in months and with his first touch he got on the end of a great ball from DK took the ball into the box and smashed it past the keeper. It was always going to be a single goal that won it for either side and Peg comfortably closed out the remaining time for an excellent, hard fought away win.

There was a nice gesture from the Referee later in the week when he emailed both teams to congratulate them on a great game played in good spirit from both team. High praise which we were very pleased to receive.
