Corby Pegasus F.C.        1        Harpole        0

On a blistering hot October day, Pegasus made it three wins on the bounce against an always difficult to beat Harpole side.

With a couple of call offs on Saturday morning, and Steven Ennis carrying a knock Derek made changes to the side that progressed to the Second Round of the NFA Junior Cup the week before.

Ryan Hill was re-called to the starting line-up after his weeks holiday at S and L and Mark Sinclair also made the first 11 after being unable to travel the 50 miles with the Reserves due to the impending birth of his latest child - all the best to you and your family Mark. We hope all goes well!!

Anyway, the game started and neither side, probably due to the heat, was creating much, but after 18 minutes, Pegasus duly took the lead.  A well worked move down the left ending with Lewis Good scoring with a fine shot across the Harpole keeper and into the far corner.

Things were very tight after that with not a great deal happening, but in the 25th minute both sides were reduced to 10 men when  Hill was tackled strongly by a Harpole midfielder, reacted aggressively and the Referee sent both players off. Personally, as early in the game as that I think a yellow for both would have been sufficient.

The second half produced few chances with harpole perhaps creating more, but with the Pegasus M.O.M. Chris Burr and keeper Craig McShannon in solid form and Paul Simpson working tirelessly up front on his own,  Pegasus held out for their second clean sheet in a row and a most welcome win against difficult opposition.
